Poor Aiden

Aiden has not been sleeping well for about a year and a half. He snores like a lumberjack! One day about two months ago, he was making a silly face at me and I noticed that his tonsils were HUGE!! He had been acting sort of sick for a few days so I began to wonder if he possible had strept throat. I took him to the Q clinic and his test was negative. Then a few weeks later, at a well child visit, his doctor, Dr. Karstens (I love her), said that he did have huge tonsils and that she was fine to leave them in as long as he was not having trouble breathing, particularily during sleep. Before all of this, I did notice that he was seemingly having trouble breathing in his sleep, but it was mostly in the van. When he sleeps in his car seat his neck is all bent in half and so anyone would have trouble sleeping like that! Every thing changed one night when I ended up laying in bed with him. As soon as he fell asleep he began to snore quite loudly. About a minute into the night, he actually STOPPED BREATHING!! It didn't last very long, but he would stop snoring and breathing all together, and then kind of gag for air and then go back to snoring. He continued to sleep like that for the time I was laying with him. I actually had to leave the room because it was too hard to listen to his sleep like that. I'm sure he wasn't well rested in the mornings from having such a bad sleep. He ended up seeing the ENT doctor and he agreed that the tonsils were causing his pauses in breathing. He had them out this morning at about 7:30. Though he is hoarse and pitiful sounding, he is sleeping now. He is not snoring and not having the pauses in breathing! He looks so peaceful, part of that is probably the pain meds, but still!! I am so glad that even only a few hours after his surgery, he already appears to be better. Now I just hope that he is able to recover quickly!!

  1. You may try Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa (ninjiom-hk.cwahi.net). i know alot of people use it, its also non alcoholic, though it's effectiveness is not as good as alcohol based cough medicine, but it's still good to use on not so serious scratchy throat.

apprently ( according to the instruction) children from 2 to 12 can use it.
