Poor Aiden

Aiden has not been sleeping well for about a year and a half. He snores like a lumberjack! One day about two months ago, he was making a silly face at me and I noticed that his tonsils were HUGE!! He had been acting sort of sick for a few days so I began to wonder if he possible had strept throat. I took him to the Q clinic and his test was negative. Then a few weeks later, at a well child visit, his doctor, Dr. Karstens (I love her), said that he did have huge tonsils and that she was fine to leave them in as long as he was not having trouble breathing, particularily during sleep. Before all of this, I did notice that he was seemingly having trouble breathing in his sleep, but it was mostly in the van. When he sleeps in his car seat his neck is all bent in half and so anyone would have trouble sleeping like that! Every thing changed one night when I ended up laying in bed with him. As soon as he fell asleep he began to snore quite loudly. About a minute into the night, he actually STOPPED BREATHING!! It didn't last very long, but he would stop snoring and breathing all together, and then kind of gag for air and then go back to snoring. He continued to sleep like that for the time I was laying with him. I actually had to leave the room because it was too hard to listen to his sleep like that. I'm sure he wasn't well rested in the mornings from having such a bad sleep. He ended up seeing the ENT doctor and he agreed that the tonsils were causing his pauses in breathing. He had them out this morning at about 7:30. Though he is hoarse and pitiful sounding, he is sleeping now. He is not snoring and not having the pauses in breathing! He looks so peaceful, part of that is probably the pain meds, but still!! I am so glad that even only a few hours after his surgery, he already appears to be better. Now I just hope that he is able to recover quickly!!

Let's try this again...

So, as my sister so pointed out, it has been a very long time since I have done a posting on here. Last time, Aiden was 9 months old and not walking and just getting teeth! ALOT has happened since then!!

Paolo is now 4 and is really getting into sports. He LOVES to swim and just recently started swimming underwater! No, he's not sinking, he's actually swimming underwater. He likes to dive down and get the rings off the bottom of the pool. He even does it without his float belt now too, which I think is just great. Seriously, two months ago he would kick and scream if I asked him to put his eyes in and now he won't stay above the water!! As his swim teacher, and mother, naturally I am so proud of him!! He also really likes soccer and can't wait for indoor soccer to start up at the Y in Feb. He played t-ball and flag football this summer and fall and loved those too. Looks like we have a regular athlete on our hands!! He throws right handed and bats left handed. Just like Joe Mauer!! Now, if only he could make the big bucks like Joe, we'd be in business. haha.

Aiden is 2 now!! He is talking more and more every day. His new sayings include, "um, can I tell you something?" "I have a good idea" and "um, actually, no." He is very fond of the last one and uses it quite regularily. He is getting so big and starting to look and act like a little boy and not so much like a toddler. He wants to do everything himself and won't stop trying until he figures things out. He also is very smart for his age. Part of that is from listening to Paolo talk with us and stuff I think. Aiden is getting his tonsils and adnoids taken out on Jan. 11th! He can hardly breath while he sleeps because his tonsils nearly close off his airwa!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but breathing is a good thing! I'm hoping he will sleep more soundly after this is all over with. Aiden is also working on potty training already. He does a great job the majority of the time. He is lactose intolerant to a very high degree and when he has a flare up with that his progress is basically back to none, but as soon as he is back to normal, he is back to doing a great job!

The biggest thing that has changed since the last time I did a post is that we added Marc to our family!! Marc Robyn Pagnucci was born on March 5th, 2010. He is now 10 months old and very active. He has to try to keep up with his big brothers so I don't blame him! He just got his first tooth last week and is working on walking! He can push around all the walking toys and goes along the furniture and all that. He also likes to get into things he isn't supposed to. What gets me is that he knows exactly what he is doing! He will go over to something that he shouldn't, pull up to a stand, touch it, and then looks back to see if we are watching him!! When we say no he just gives a big smile and shakes his head. The little monkey is going to be a trouble maker!! Paolo and Aiden love having a little brother and love watching him explore. They call him "Marc boy-oh" or "markie do da" or something just "monkey". Marc also loves watching them and playing with them. Paolo especially can really get Marc laughing with very little effort.

Stefan and I are really enjoying watching the boys grow up. I can't believe Marc is almost a year old already! Where did the time go? As fun as it is to have a baby around, we are both looking forward to the years ahead of us. We are excited to be able to take trips with them and watch them play their sports and go to school and stuff like that. We are planning a trip to Seattle sometime in the spring or fall and a trip to the Pittsburgh area for this coming Christmas. It will be nice to have them be a little older and able to travel better.

I will try to find the time to post more often on here. I might even be able to figure out how to get the pictures where I want them and every thing next time too. haha. Hopefully it won't be another year and a half before I get some pics on here!!

There is one picture so you can at least see what they all currently look like.
